Odds Now At 50% (Uncertain) the U.S. Prime Rate Will Continue at 6.75% After the September 16, 2026 FOMC Monetary Policy Meeting

As of right now, our odds are at 50% (uncertain) the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the Federal Reserve will vote to leave the benchmark target range for the fed funds rate (TRFFR) at the current 3.50% - 3.75% at the September  16TH, 2026 monetary policy meeting, which would leave the United States Prime Rate at 6.75%.

The lnflation Problem Continues

  • Year-on-year (Y-o-Y), the Core PCE Price Index, for the month of July, moved sideways, from +3.3% to +3.3%. 

  • Y-o-Yfor the month of July, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) eased,  from +3.53% to +3.36%. 

    • The Core CPI, which leaves out food an energy, decreased, from 2.59% to +2.48%.
  • Crude oil inventories continue to decline. As of last week, inventories were -103,900,000 barrels (-12.63%) compared to a year ago... 🛢😐🛢
